Pat Kaufman is considered by many to be one of the greatest advocates and leaders of Women's Golf in Maryland. She served as Chairman of the Committee on Maryland Women's Golf until the MSGA created the MSGA Women's Division in 1995, where she served as President for its initial four years.

The WDCGA has 27 private clubs from the Washington Metropolitan area.  She served as Secretary and Vice President leading up to being President in 2001 and 2002. Pat also served on the Middle Atlantic Golf Association Executive Committee.

Pat was initially invited to serve on the USGA Woman’s Committee.  Her success on this committee was the stepping stone for many roles within the USGA: the Regional Affairs Committee and the Women's Committee, and she Chaired the Women's Mid-Amateur before being named to the USGA Executive Committee from 2008 through 2011.  While on the USGA Executive Committee, Pat was the Chair of the US Men’s Senior Amateur Committee, a member of the USGA Rules Committee, and Chairman of the Joe Dey Award.

Pat served for many years as a Rules Official at numerous MSGA, MAGA, and other Championships. She was also an official at countless USGA Championships, including the Men’s Amateur, Women’s Amateur, Boy’s Junior Amateur, Girl’s Junior Amateur, Curtis Cup, and The Masters Tournament.

Pat has been recognized with many awards, including the MSGA-Woman’s Division Distinguished Service Award in 2001 and the WDCGA Sharon Briggs Award for Distinguished Service in 2004. She was inducted into the Middle Atlantic Golf Association Hall of Fame in 2011.
